This website is an independent educational guide to The New York Times Learning Network’s free student writing contests. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The New York Times Company. We provide explanatory information and optional coaching; we do not run the contests and cannot accept or judge entries.

Coaching services
Any coaching we offer is an optional, paid service that is separate from the free contests. Coaching provides guidance and feedback to help students improve their own work; it does not write entries for students and does not guarantee any contest result.
